WHAT MY WORK IS ABOUT....

My work covers many subject matter, but the true inspiration for it is my own background and origins.

My parents came to this country after World War 2 as DP's (displaced people)(or refugees - mum doesn't like this word) from Poland. They made good here. Their fascinating seperate stories of survival under bizarre and extreme circumstances was, and still is, a massive source of inspiration. There is always a new story I haven't heard before.

The way my work looks is influenced by the way things look after a bomb blast or dereliction. found objects, scraps of life, memorabilia....burnt, fused, photos, graphics.....the worthless, the collectable, the priceless. New entities, memories and emotions.

All my artworks are original one off pieces. I make all my own frames.
