OLIVER SHAW

Known as 'The Shaw' since childhood, Oliver Shaw arrived in Brixton, South London having skateboarded his way through the south coasts art schools, and has lived there and worked as an artist for the last 10 years. With Skateboarding as a lifelong influence, graffiti artist /dub illustrator turned canvas free-styler Oliver's *pointillist and often abstracted works are contemporary with a quirk. Everyday images are rendered via the technicolor utterings of a spray can. Blindly driven black outlines hint at ambidexterity, revealing faces and personalities, while drips and splashes, voice then mask darker moments. Take a look at this vinyl tiled floor he has lovingly created - we like his energy - Concrete tower blocks, skulls and cheerful blossoms are juxtaposed and vie in equal measure for his optimistic touch.
