Inspired by a conversation with Robert Lenkiewicz who told him to 'Make every mark a thought and every thought a clear one'. this made a strong impact on Connor as it struck him as strange as that is exactly how an actor works and inspired him to explore this concept through painting.
Initially taught by a former pupil of Lenkiewicz his passion for painting was motivated and from this point on Connor was hooked. His paintings come across as fearless. Whilst he started figuratively he has moved on to abstract. "The sense of adventure excites me about working in an abstract way... the risk, with no firm attachment to an outcome. You never know what you are going to get."
He describes his current work as "pertaining to landscapes". He is fascinated by the anthropocene, the scientific term used for the current geological period, meaning the age of man. "It's the proposition that everything from the beginning of agriculture to the globalisation of McDonald's will leave a durable imprint."
With his favourite brush being the size of a floor mop Red Propeller is very excited to be working with this rare talent.
